Takondwa Msosa
Takondwa Msosa is a medical doctor and public health scientist from Malawi. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at the Helse Nord Tuberculosis Initiative (HNTI) at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS). His main research interests are in developing and evaluating complex public health interventions. Within the REMIND studies, he is conducting studies on Digital Health for Disease Management of Adolescents and Young Adults Living with HIV in Malawi (REMIND-AYA). Furthermore, he is making use of the same platform to pursue his doctoral studies at the University of Amsterdam.
Takondwa holds a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malawi which he obtained in 2015, and a Master of Public Health (Distinction) from the University of Edinburgh obtained in 2020 under the prestigious Beit Trust Scholarship. Additionally, he is also a holder of a Diploma in Computer Studies from the National College of Information Technology which he obtained in 2010. Before joining HNTI has a full-time researcher, Takondwa first worked as a Senior Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health, later as the Technical Advisor for Reproductive Health at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), and finally as the Project Manager for Birth Defects Surveillance at the International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH).
Takondwa is certain that his multidisciplinary skillset and diverse experience will enable him to formulate and evaluate novel and innovative interventions that will help solve a myriad of health challenges facing Malawi and the broader African region.
