International Day Of Women and Girls In Science
International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated world wide February 11th every year at KCRI we have celebrated today on 10th February through Remind Studies project which is facilitated by EDCTP.
The project managed to bring togther 50 girls students from five ifferent schools each brought 10 students. The students were from Machame, Weruweru, Karanga, Mkuu and AshaRose Migiro secondary schools.
The topics covered were inspiration, GBV, mental health, question and answers also Open Lab whereby students had an opportunity to visit KCRI?KCMC research Lab.
The event was graced by Rev Laizer, Lab manager Prof Ireen Kiwia, Prof Rachel Manongi who is among top 22 scientist in Tanzania in the year 2022, Dr Ambokile who is the mental health proffesional and Dr Mtweve GBV specialist, Bhoke Mashaka a medical Student from Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College and Marion Sumari the Project Investigator among others.
This event was made possible through the REMIND-KID study, a project funded by EDCTP, a programma of Horizon2020
